KENTUCKY DERBY WINNER – JORGE CHAVEZ
Introduction:
Numerous horse racing jockeys are available in the United States. One amongst them is Jorge Chavez. He was born on the 25th of November, 1961 in the town of Callao in the South American nation of Peru. He is considered as a horse riding jockey in the American thoroughbred racing. The career of Jorge Chavez was initiated in the year 1982, in the state of Peru. In the year 1987, Chavez became the leading rider of his nation. In the months of April 1988, Chavez moved from Peru to the United States, wherein he got huge success in the race tracks of Florida. After a few years, Jorge Chavez moved to the city of New York. He was considered as the leading rider of the NYRA circuit from the years 1994 till the year 1999. This was the time when Chavez got national prominence.

Chavez won a couple of Breeders’ Cup races in the year 1999 by considering both the Sprint and the Distaff. It was in the same year, when Chavez also participated in the Cigar Mile Handicap. It was the second time, when he did so. Chavez went on to win the Eclipse award, thanks to his stellar performances in the year 1999. Chavez was also the fan favorite of the horse racing circuit in the city of New York. He rode for many years in these regions. In addition, Chavez is also known by the name “Chop Chop”.
